ANNIE ELIZABETH CUTCHIN TEAGUE
Annie Elizabeth (Lib) Cutchin Teague, 97 of Sunset Park in Wilmington passed away Tuesday, June 15, 2010
She was born in Stanly County, NC on February 21, 1913. Her parents were the late
Thaddeus Eric Cutchin and Julia Gaddis Maner Cutchin. She was the widow of Arthur F.
Teague who passed away in 2003. Also preceded in death by brothers, Edgar Cutchin and
Bobby Cutchin, and sisters, Ruth McLendon, Emma Jean Beardean, and Rachel Dean
Cutchin.
Lib moved to Wilmington in 1943 during WW II with her husband, who worked in the shipyard. While living in Maffitt Village she assisted in organizing the Maffitt Village Baptist Church. Moving to Sunset Park in 1957 she was committed to her church, Sunset Park Baptist until her death.
She was involved with the New Hanover County Home Demonstration Club, being named Woman of the Year in 1958. She received a certificate from Governor James G. Martin in 1989 for dedication and devotion in providing volunteer service in NC.
She is survived by her children, Farrell Teague and wife Geraldine of Wilmington, Bill Teague
and wife Carol of Hendersonville, NC, Dr. Thomas Teague and wife Joyce Ann of Olive
Branch, MS, Julia Weathers of Wilmington and Joyce Stewart and husband Edward of
Kennesaw, GA.
Grandchildren, Keith Teague Jayme, Lynn Teague, Denise Klein Joe, Wanda Horton Scott,
Elizabeth Terrell Jeff, Kendall Linn, and Katheryn Teague; five great grandchildren and one
great great grandson.
Also survived by brothers, Walter Cutchin Betty, Dennis Cutchin Barbara and Larry Cutchin
Vicky; and sisters, Etta Martha Lockamy, Julia Reynolds, Faye Cutchin and Nancy Mayo
Mike; and in-laws, Juanita Smith, Evelyn Wiggins, and Ed Teague.
Visitation for family and friends will be 6 to 8 pm Friday at Andrews Mortuary Market Street Chapel.
Celebration of life ceremony will be 1 pm Saturday, June 19, 2010 at Andrews Mortuary Market Street Chapel officiated by Rev. Chris Wroten and Rev. Horace Hawes. Entombment will be at Greenlawn Memorial Park Mausoleum.
